Finding Money in Your Pocket

or Consistent Dedication

It's gorgeous outside, good things happened since before I was awoke at 5:30 and my family is on my mind. They are consistently dedicated to their works - and in that I don't mean "job", I mean their works as relative to what they believe in and peruse in this world. If you know me, you've heard this before, but today, I was thinking that consistent dedication - like what I see in my entire family - causes a lot of days in life where it feels lake all your doing is finding money in your pocket, being blessed or feeling accomplished.

It takes a lot to stay dedicated. Just this past week, I had to take some much needed time off. After a strong roll in which much was done, I ran out of energy. I don't mean I got tired, I could do no more for a minute. So, I didn't.  When finished resting, I fully thought there would need to be effort made to build new momentum and "get in" to the day. 'Twas not true.

Working hard, staying dedicated and a focus on true purpose in this world and for this day, means you are greeted by a path that includes encouragement, rewards and ideas that come in brilliant moments of clarity. In working to cultivate a conscious attitude towards life, dreams come with answers, ideas and as a result - internal motivation. Perhaps this is somewhat similar to where the term "Dreams come true" came from. Either way, it is a reality in my life and I see it in so many others. If you love the feeling of finding money in your pocket, winning and in other ways having moments of true joy, perhaps a consistent dedication is really all you need.

Clearing out your spaces

For the last part of 2011, I suggest on my Facebook page and will duplicate the suggestion here, that you clean out your spaces. From offices to people, from thoughts to visualizations, it's time to clean up anything that stands between you and your goals for the future. 2012 is going to be monumental-where do you want to be? Head into that office space, tackle the filing cabinet and get an orderly system together so that you can be successful and calm while you complete tasls and meet goals. You will feel better and more focused if you know where your working items are and your space will be supportive of you meeting your goals and making it through obstacles. Put up an old fashioned calendar to keep you reminded of important dates and meeting times before they get there. Think of what you will need to succeed and contact anyone you could use for advice and mentoring. Your thoughts will create your reality and if there are any blank spaces or questions, use your social media or ...

I love Memorial Day (and leave the BBQ's alone)

I love memorial day. I didn't used to think of it much and I BBQ all the time, so I'm not too impressed with all those cartoons running around. I love memorial day because I get to officially remember people, many of whom I think about consistently but It wasn't always this way. Remembering can be hard and (in my opinion) paying tribute to those memories are an individual choice. I was living away from my family, in Arizona and married to an individual that didn't prefer me having any connections to people outside of him. My grandmothers both passed away in this time and I was unaware. My grandmother in Florida was an adorable little woman when I got to know her as a young kid. From my mom's stories, I know it wasn't always that way. Grandma Gron had to be tough to live through my grandpa and I promise you, tough is an understatement. She raised three children and my mother is of the best I have the pleasure of knowing or to know or know of. I remember and c...

Startup Weekend_One week later

It's been one week since the Startup Weekend in Salt Lake and I've had a bit of time to process the event, the outcome and my personal experiences with this phenomenal three day marathon. First, let me say that I heard of this event after complaining that Utah didn't have a lot of entrepreneurial type conferences. I take back some of what I said and have to admit, if a single event were to come to this state in lieu of all others, I'd be okay with Startup Weekend being that event. For those of you not familiar, this is a competition where people pitch ideas, research, plan and execute a group of start up businesses in a three day period. That said, here's more about the event- what I would do differently, some of my favorite aspects and what's happened since last Saturday. If I had it all to do over again, I'd do almost all of it different. I don't know if I've ever felt that way before, but it's true for Startup Weekend. For example, I would ha...
